The energy level of the fanatic is that of mania and manic behaviour and unable to be objective.

The Good: Everlasting enthusiasm, confidence and persistence.

The Bad: Burnout, Lack of Objectivity leading them to swim upstream against the current further isolating themselves from the world.

The opposite of fanaticism could be lack of enthusiasm, apathy, wishy washy, constantly changing interest, politicians that change their political stance reacting to whatever the polls report.

The Good: Able to adapt and change course based upon needs, going with the flow.

The Bad: Loss of identity and not being able to lead or attain any influence. The may go with the flow or tide but they are never really in the flow or the zone because they are not being their true selves if they have any true self that is from within rather than a reflection.

The fanatic may stay the course and not be objective to any criticism or scientific data that may require in an adjustment to the course.

The antifanatic may never stick to any course long enough to drive it to success.

Both extreme side of the continuim lead to failure.

If you had your choice and had to choose which would you rather be?

The fanatic has the enthusiasm and confidence, the stick-to-it-iveness. They stand for something. Some may say they have a backbone or foundation and values. They tend to have alot of pride and ego both of which have been the downfall of many great men and women in history.

Interesting....The very thing that drove them ultimately caused their destruction

The antifanatic just seems to survive, never really progressing. They change their colors like the chameleon which helps the chameleon the survive and remain invisible to its predators in the food chain.

In this complex world where no man is an island and their are really no self made men or women in the most pure sense adaptability is extremely important to survival. Evolve or become extinct.

Can we channel the energy and persistance of the fanatic with the adaptibility of the chameleon?

Should we stay in the middle as a moderate and survive but again just drifting with the current OR

Can we tack like the sailboat in a zig zag depending on the wind coming in from an oblique direction channeling us with a foward momentum gathering the progressive qualities of the fanatic and the chameleon back and forth.

When the wind is behind us with full support we can go full speed in a straight direction taking adavantage of our greatest strengths.

So again what is better the Chameleon of the Fanatic?

OR an Aware Fanatic vs. an Aware Chameleon?

OR should the question be:

What is better?

An Aware Fanatic or a Fanatical Chameleon.

hmmmm....

Is it more possible for a fanatic to become aware than it is for a chameleon to become fanatical?

The fanatic is driven to success and if they became aware that for them to succeed the needed to not just take advantage of their strengths but also to be aware of their weaknesses and have a plan in place to deal with them they would be more likely to succeed and avoid failure.

The chameleon is driven for survival. Their strength is adapting to their situation constantly. Can the chameleon be fanatical by nature? Can they become aware that even though they adapt and survive they are always playing the game by somebody elses rules and never really progressing but sustaining.

That's fine for the chameleon. That's all they need to do is to survive like many of us do to pay the bills and take care of ourselves and our families.

Now that I think of it how about the question: Can I be a Fanatic and a Chameleon?

Rather than being a watered down version of each being the strongest part of each.

Now thinking here can a Fanatic by nature become both:

A Fanatic and Chameleon?

And can a Chameleon by nature become both:

A Chameleon and Fanatic?

The Fanatic's Drive is Beyond Survival although they can easily ignore survival and fail.

The Chameleon's Drive is Survival yet they never really go beyond that.

The fanatic seeks to thrive.

The chameleon seeks to survive.

You must survive before you thrive and if you thrive you therefore have survived and then some.

You must make mistakes to learn which the Fanatic can and will do but may not learn an adjust unless they are proactive with their awareness of rigidity.

The Chameleon will make no mistakes or they will die and even then those deadly mistakes will benefit the evolution of future Chameleons.

hmmmmmm........

So which should I be?

A mixture of Fanatic and Chameleon, Switching from Fanatic to Chameleon as neccessary

OR

Being both Fanatic and Chameleon at the same time.

Yes! a Fanatical Chameleon who always Survives and Thrives.

Being Both in a way that one doesn't cancel the other out....

A Chameleon that is fanatical about surviving and a...

Fanatic who adapts to thrive.

The Fanatic is the drive and momentum because for them they must thrive to survive because merely suriviving for them is failure.

The Chameleon is the wise navigator who listens and considers the advice of others and cautiously proceeds with a strategy.

Some knowledge is only aquired by experimenting and trying things and observing to see what happens objectively and analytically being open new knowledge even if it challenges past beliefs.

Other knowledge can be aquired by studying the successes and failures of others and considering the circumstances they were in compared to yours and again being objective and analytical seperating the hype or fiction from fact.

Being the Fanatical Chameleon can seek the truth and become inline with it...In the Zone.

Consider all the possibilities, open your eyes and open the door that leads to enlightenment.

Yes strengthen your strengths

AND

Be aware (beware) of your weaknesses and strengthen them too and/or seek guidance.

I believe in seeking knowledge and experience through constant experimentation along with the knowledge we aquire through others who have done the same we retain our identity and uniqueness and in being our true selves when stay "In The Zone".

The person that assumes they know it all based upon their extreme confidence and expertise they have in one area deprives themselves of the ability to effectively seek truth. We all know someone like this and we may have some of it in our selves if we search our thoughts and beliefs in depth.

The fanatic can be like this rigid in their thinking. They say that they are sticking to their guns but they could be and many times are dead wrong and don't even know it and if they do know it they are in denial about it.
